Caltagirone.
Apart from its baroque, Caltagirone is also well known for the earthenware that has been produced there since pre-historic times, as can be seen at the Regional Earthenware Museum which has a collection of relics from all historical periods. Even today there are still about 100 earthenware workshops that produce hand made articles of rare beauty which are exported in all the world. |

Piazza Armerina.
The Roman villa – it is the greatest evidence of the Ancient Roman presence in the Sicilian hinterland. An immense aristocratic villa dating back to the III – IV century A.D., its rich rooms are paved with precious mosaics that portray various scenes: hunting, fishing, African and Oriental influences, mythological figures as well as daily life.
